The nervous system consists of the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system: The central nervous system is composed of the brain, the cerebellum and the spinal cord.
The peripheral nervous system, which best can be described as a system of conductors,  is composed of  the brain nerves in the head area, the nerves of the spinal cord and the wickerwork of nerves.
We can distinguish between the somatic and autonomic nervous system.

The somatic nervous system is composed of nerve cells that pass on stimuli from the  sensory receptors to the central nervous system and to the diagonally striped muscles. The autonomic nervous system supplies the nerve cells by means of nerve stimuli  –  these being the nerve cells of the inner organs, the musculature, the heart, the blood vessels and the digestive system. According to scientific research, the autonomic nervous system cannot be influenced by our willpower.
